Maryn L. Formley, MS

Executive Director & Founder

Maryn L. Formley (pronounced Muh-‘Rin Form-lee) hails from the East End of Pittsburgh and graduated from Trinity Christian School in 1998. She went on to attend college at Randolph-Macon in Ashland, VA. She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, double concentration in Sociology and Black Studies. Following graduation, she returned home and began working in child welfare. Maryn has been with Allegheny County Department of Human Services, the Office of Children, Youth, and Families and the Office of Analysis, Technology, and Planning, for 20+ years, and is currently the manager of the KIDS computer application team. Working full time and attending school online, Maryn earned a master’s degree in Leadership with a concentration in Information Technology in December 2017 from Duquesne University.

Walking in the footsteps of her parents, Maryn continues to endeavor to do more for her community. While volunteering for the mayoral campaign of Rev. Dr. John C. Welch in May 2017, Maryn’s experiences working the polls inspired her to start the Voter Empowerment Education & Enrichment Movement aka VEEEM. VEEEM was founded on September 30, 2017, and the mission is to increase voter turnout in Allegheny County by propelling people to the polls.

Maryn is an involved member and elder at Bidwell Presbyterian Church and a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She lives in Brookline with her cat MeowMeow.
